Struggling with Sin

Yeah! That is a big and common struggle with Christians today. Sin. I mean really it’s everywhere. We give our lives back to Christ  two hundred times in a week,  we are sorry every minute if the day because we keep doing one thing or the other that is totally not Christ like. The struggle is really real!
Do we ever wonder why we struggle this much or why the Christian life seems like such a huge burden rather than an enjoyable lifestyle or why we keep on committing the same sins over and over again? And really in our hearts we know we love God,  we want to do his will,  we want to walk in his ways but those habits and wrong lifestyles just keeps holding us back.
The heartbreaking truth is that if you love God you would obey his commandments, He would be foremost in your hearts. Yes but I try to do that! I know! Oh how I know! And I know it’s not easy too.
Well, a sweetheart really dear to my heart gave me the answer to the struggle today. Remember the Word of God does not lie! We just have to conform ourselves to it. And the answer lies in the passage above. Live and walk by the Spirit!
Basically it means you have to allow the Holy Spirit guide you and lead you and you have to listen to him because truth be told your decisions, morals and upbringing cannot help you.  Your flesh is really strong, it’s the Spirit of God that can and the beautiful thing is as Christians we all have the Spirit of God on our inside, He wants to help us. Remember Jesus said he will send us a comforter,  a teacher,  our friend to help us in this journey because he knew we would not be able to do so on our own. This is due to the fact that our real struggle is not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers.
Now how do we know we are indeed walking in the Spirit and not in the flesh?  We exhibit the fruits!
If we walk in the flesh we exhibit the fruits of the flesh established in Gal 5: 19-21 that says: “The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
Yes! So whichever way we live we would surely exhibit the fruits.
So today lets ask the Holy Spirit, our best friend to help us to walk in the Spirit  so the Christian walk can become a lifestyle.
You could read the whole Gal 5, I bet it would be helpful.
                Much, much love 😘

  1. Living by the Spirit, obeying the Spirit’s promptings per time. The more we yield, the better we become.
